Call for following Sunnah

LAHORE  - Speakers at an Eid Miladun Nabi conference on Wednesday stressed the need for following Sunnah.
“We as being Muslims are lucky. Our salvation lies in applying Islamic principles,” they averred.
The speakers included former chief justice of Federal Shariah Court Mian Mahboob Ahmad, the chair, NPT Chairman Dr Majid Nizami, former parliamentarian Begum Bushra Rehman, Begum Mehnaz Rafi, Khateeb of Data Darbar Jamia Masjid Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Siyalvi and Maulana Muhammad Hussain Azad Al-Azhari.
A large number of students, religious scholars and people from different walks of life attended the conference.
Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Secretary Shahid Rasheed conducted the proceedings.
CJ Mian Mahboob Ahmad observed that the three things that could ensure our survival as an ideal society were tolerance, eradication of ignorance and propagation of knowledge.
“Equality, fraternity, veneration for one another were the golden principles of Islam,” he added. He also referred to the revolutionary step taken by Islam by safeguarding the women’s rights.
Dr Majid Nizami thanked the audience and the speakers for making Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust’s two-day Eid Miladun Nabi conference a success. He thanked Allah for making them the followers of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and remarked that, only by following in the footsteps of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), we can achieve success in this world and the world hereafter.
Bugum Bushra Rehman stressed the need for mothers to bring up their children in such a way that they prove to be an asset for the society.
“The lap of mother is the greatest university where the child conceives the doctrines, ideologies and visions he is going to develop in the future,” he added.
The renowned political and social figure Begum Mehnaz Rafi observed that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) completely revolutionised the society what was negative, destructive and harmful with what was positive, eradicating constructive and beneficial.
Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Siyalvi dwelt on the most amiable that of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) personality through which He (PBUH) affected a thorough metamorphosis in the personality of His interlocutor.
The speaker emphasised the need for the present-day religious scholars and Sufis to inculcate in their personalities the same touch of simplicity, sincerity and warmth of love as was characteristic of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Dr Majid Nizami inaugurated the exhibition of Islamic books observing that they acquaint us with the golden Islamic principles and teach us how to lead our life in accordance with the Quran.
He also saw the rare and historical pictures produced by the renowned artist Azmat Sheikh and acclaimed his artistic talent.
