LAHORE: Suspending termination of 19 teachers of Aitchison College, a single-judge bench of the Lahore High Court has issued notice to the principal with directions to submit reply on Tuesday.
Adeel Akhtar and other teachers had filed petitioner and submitted that the principal terminated them from their services while he had no authority to terminate them under the law.
The petitioner stated that the Board of Governors was the authority to issue such orders but they were removed directly by the principal without providing any opportunity of defence. They requested the court to set aside their termination order.–Staff Reporter
After hearing the petitioners’ arguments, Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza issued an interim stay order against the termination and suspended the impugned notification till next hearing. The proceedings adjourned until August 28.
