16,685 kids enrolled in Lakki schools



The District Education Department with the support of National Commission for Human Development enrolled 16,685 children, including 7178 girls, in schools during the enrollment drive launched in April this year.
This was stated by District Education Officer Haji Taj Ali Khan while briefing local journalists at his office on Saturday. 
DDEO Haji Khalid Wahab, SDEO Nasrullah Jan, ADEO Nisar Muhammad and ASDEOs Abdul Rehman Rashid, Qadeer Shah, Saleh Badshah, Hamidullah, Tahir Ahmad and Aqal Wazir were also present on the occasion. Taj Ali said that parent teacher councils of boy and girl schools held 796 meetings to persuade parents to send their out of school children to schools again.
He said that the headmasters and teachers of 406 boy schools held awareness walks to highlight importance of education and kids' admission in schools during April. "To monitor the enrollment campaign the local officials of Education Department paid 195 visits to schools to check the admission of children and issue instructions to the schools' administration to make the drive a success at all costs," he maintained.–Ghulam Mursalin
