LAHORE - A father-of-four was shot dead by his opponents over a land dispute in Raiwind on Tuesday, police said.
Resident of King Sharif, Mahboob Arif, was on his way to fields when Mahar Din along with his five accomplices ambushed him. The gunmen exchanged harsh words with him and opened straight fire at him, killing him on the spot.
Police investigators said that the killers had a dispute with the deceased over a piece of land.
The police reached the spot and removed the body to morgue for autopsy. The police have also registered a murder case and are investigating with no arrest so far.

City police continued search operations against suspected elements and criminals in different parts of the provincial metropolis on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said that during the search operation in Lahore, the police checked 1339 suspicious persons and 5225 students of 85 religious schools (Madaris).
After conducting raids at 196 places, police also arrested 85-drug pushers, 47-gamblers and recovered 132 liter liquor, 8 kg chars and betting amount worth Rs47000 from their possession.
The Lahore police are put on high alert and massive search operations are underway across the Punjab province to keep a vigilant eye on the activities of the miscreant and suspected persons ahead of key voting in the country.
