Terrorism biggest challenge: IGP


LAHORE – Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Khan Baig has said that terrorism and sectarianism have become a serious challenge for the police. In order to overcome these challenges, he suggested, the police officers would have to come in the field so that the lives and properties of the people could be protected.
The IGP) Punjab stated this while addressing a farewell ceremony held at the Central Police Office on Saturday in the honour of Additional-IG (CTD) Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera following his posting as the IGP of the Balochistan province.
Additional-IG Traffic Punjab Kalb-e-Abbas, Additional-IG Special Branch Punjab Nasir Khan Durrani, Additional-IG (PHP) Malik Khuda Bukhsh Awan, Additional-IG Welfare and Finance Sarmad Saeed, Additional-IG Investigations Punjab Naseem-ul-Zaman, Additional-IG Training Mubarak Ali Athar, CCPO Lahore Amjad Javed Saleemi, DIG (Operations) Punjab Sohail Ahmed Khan, DIG (Investigations) Lahore Chaudhry Shafique Ahmed were also present on this occasion besides others officers at the CPO.
The IGP Punjab lauded the services of Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera for the police department especially his outstanding work during his posting in the CTD and hoped that he would show similar performance in the Balochistan to maintain law and order and peace in that province as well. Khan Baig also assured full cooperation to Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera.
On this occasion, IGP Balochistan Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera said that he would not leave any stone unturned to maintain law and order in the Balochistan province as per the expectations of the government.
