LAHORE - A two-day scientific symposium, to be organised by Post Graduate Medical Institute, will start on January 30 at Lahore General Hospital.
Senior professors will deliver lectures while experts of medical field will read their research papers during the symposium. A poster Exhibition will also be arranged to sensitise public about various diseases.
Addressing inaugural session of training workshop on basic surgical skills on Wednesday, Principal PGMI/LGH Prof Anjam Habib Vohra said that as many as 14 pre workshops would be conducted in all the departments before symposium for young doctors.
Prof Agha Shibir Ali, Prof Muhammad Iqbal, Dr Muhammad Zahid, faculty members and young doctors attended the workshop.
Anjam Habib Vohra said that the symposium would not only update the knowledge of doctors but also set new traditions of research to find out the solution of medical problems. He said that medical science has made significance advancement in modern era and a number of incurable diseases have been overcome. He said that the thirst of knowledge should never be satisfied as it plays pivotal role in medical advancements.
Prof Iqbal said the young doctors should focus on surgery as it was delicate and complicated process. He emphasized the students to remain careful about their training and studies as they were associated with the sacred duty of saving human lives.
