Following Sunnah need of hour

LAHORE - Speakers at an Eid Miladun Nabi conference on Thursday stressed the need for following Sunnah.
The moot was held as part of the Eid Miladun Nabi celebrations at the Aiwan-i-Karkunaan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan under the aegis of the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust in collaboration with the Pakistan Movement Workers Trust.
The speakers included Sajjada Nasheen Astana-i-Aliya Sharaqpur Sharif Sahibzada Pir Mian Waleed Ahmad Sharaqpuri, the Chair; Justice (r) Nazir Ahmad Ghazi; Khateeb of the Badshahi Mosque Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad; the renowned social and political researcher Qayyun Nizami, Dr Parveen Khan, Sameeha Raheel Qazi and Director Shezan International Waseem A Mahmood. Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Secretary Shahid Rasheed conducted the proceedings of the event.
The guest of honour Sahibzada Pir Mian Waleed Ahmad Sharaqpuri observed that the reiteration of our love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was not enough. We must strive to follow the example set by him in every action of ours. It was love for humanity displayed by the saints and Sufis of the sub-continent that made such a huge number of people embrace Islam. No force was used in this regard. Forcing one’s opinions down others’ throat was never approved by Islam, he added.
Justice (r) Nazir Ahmad Ghazi remarked that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) incorporated the Holy Quran. “Gentleness, politeness, patience, forgiveness were the hallmarks of his personality. Even animals were not deprived of His love and affection,” he held.
Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad pointed out the total lack of personal vendetta in the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) character. His refusal to seek vengeance won him numberless supporters. Those who seek to harm their own fellow Muslims have strayed from the right path.
Qayyum Nizami observed that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) eliminated all discriminations of colour, ethnicity, language, clan, regionalism, gender, etc. He advocated a society free from all prejudices.
Dr Parveen Khan observed that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) combined in himself all the praise-worthy qualities of all the Prophets of Allah.
Dr Sameeha Raheel Qazi remarked that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was the cause of the creation of the universe. “We recognised our creator through his good offices,” she held.
