OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Renowned writer and poet Khalid Iqbal Yasir has assumed the charge of his new assignment as Director General Academy of Letters. Prior to that, he was DG National Museum of Science of Technology, said a press lease issued on Saturday. It may also be noted that Khalid Iqbal Yasir had already performed the duties of DG Academy of letters in the past as well. Khalid Iqbal is an eminent writer and poet a large number of books at his credit while the government of Pakistan acknowledging his literary service awarded him Tamgha-i-Imtiaz. The literary circles have hailed his appointment as DG Academy of Letters and expressed their hope that he would zealously work for the betterment and welfare of the writers community as before.
