LAHORE - Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has said that the political crisis would further deepen if the resignations of the members of National Assembly would be accepted.
The JI chief along with other party leaders on Sunday met NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq at his residence.
While talking to the media persons after meeting, the JI chief said that according to the rules, by election should have been held with 60 days of the acceptance of the resignations.
He said various political had the stance that the resignations should not be accepted. He said time should be given for the defusing the ongoing political crisis.
He said that he had requested the NA speaker for not accepting the resignations. He also urged the both sides not to make the issue of their ego.
On the occasion, Ayaz Sadiq said that the JI chief had requested him to delay the acceptance of the resignations. He said Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah also asked him the same. He said he had urged the PTI members for not giving resignations.
Regarding the statement of Imran Khan, the JI chief said that in the tense situation talking about marriage was a positive sign.
Ayaz Sadiq said if Imran Khan invited him to be witness of his marriage, he would go.
