Shahbaz promises welfare state

LAHROE (HANDOUT) - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the pivot of politics and mission of his party, PML-N, is to serve the people of country.

Talking to party workers in the provincial capital on Sunday, Shahbaz Sharif said that serious efforts were being made, under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, for ridding the country of energy crisis, resolving problems of the people and eliminating poverty and unemployment.
He informed that the construction work on power houses was continuing speedily and the completion of energy projects would help remove darkness from the country.
“The progress and prosperity of the country depends on democracy and Pakistan can make speedy development only through strengthening of democratic system and institutions,” he added.
He said that his brother, Nawaz Sharif, had played an effective role for the strengthening of democracy and promotion of democratic norms in the country. He said that the PML-N believed in public service and had always made power a source of serving the masses. Shahbaz also said that his party was implementing its agenda of public service, promising that the country would be made an Islamic welfare state in the real sense.
He said that hurdles in the way of economic development and elimination of load-shedding were temporary and would soon be overcome. He said that his party had an experienced and talented team of economic experts and due to its solid economic policies, economic indicators as well as national economy had improved.
Sharif also said that people have mandate to PML-N in 2013 elections to bring Pakistan out of quagmire of problems and the government would come up to the expectations of the masses. He said that the government would work round the clock for ridding the country of all its problems.
He said that different mega projects of infrastructure had been completed and billions of rupees were being spent on the provision of modern facilities of education and health to the people. He said that the PML-N leadership made a promise with the public to make Punjab a model province, which would be honoured by fulfilling it.
