‘Maulana Zafar planted seed of Pak-Turkish friendship’

LAHORE: Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Trust welcomed Turkish Prime Minister Tayyib Erdogan on his visit to provincial capital.
In a statement issued by Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Trust on Tuesday, it was stated that very few people knew that Lahore was a city where Maulana Zafar Ali Khan planted the seed of Pak–Turkish friendship that had taken now the shape of a huge and strong tree.
The foremost freedom fighter who is also known Father of Journalism established many funds for his Turkish brethren such as Smyrna fund, Zamindar Turkish Relief Fund, Tayyera Fund and many others funds raiser for the Turkish Nations.  Zafar Ali Khan collected lacs of rupees which were sent to the Ottoman Empire and which were acknowledged by Kamal Atta Turk, The receipt of the fund was published in Zamindar with his signature. –Staff Reporter
