Youth confesses to killing father over property

LAHORE - Police have arrested a man in connection with the killing of his father, who was shot dead by ‘unidentified men’ in Baghbanpura area seven days ago.
After being interrogated for many hours, the 20-year-old youth have confessed to the police investigators that he had murdered his father, Bashir Ahmed, over property dispute. Police investigators have recovered an assault rifle from his possession.  In-charge (investigations) Baghbanpura police station, Azam Manis, said that the police solved the blind-murder mystery by probing into the killing in a professional way.
DIG (Investigations) Zulifqar Hameed had constituted a special police team on the directions Lahore CCPO Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed to unearth the killers.
The police team collected evidences and recorded the statements of the victim family.
The investigators later detained Muhammad Asif, son of the deceased, and interrogated him in connection with the killing. Initially, the police had reported the crime as blind murder. Bashir, 40, said to be a milk-seller, was gunned down by unidentified motorcyclists when he was heading home in Salamatpura locality of Baghbanpura on December 16.
