LCCA need drastic changes: Nadeem

LAHORE Majority of test cricketers came from Lahore but they came into the limelight due to their own struggle and not because of system, said Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed, one of the candidate for the Presidentship of the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA). Chief Executive of Shapes (Pvt) Limited, Nadeem said the LCCA was accepted as an institution to hold regular cricket events/ leagues throughout the year. He urged LCCA clubs to join him in the larger interest of the game as the LCCA is one of the key bodies of the country. If LCCA wants better results, then only committed, welfare-oriented persons will be needed. There had been an downward slide in Lahore cricket and unless concerted efforts were taken, the situation would continue to plunge further. Nadeem claimed voters of East, West and North Zones have assured him full support in coming elections and he is expected to face an unbendable challenge from former Pakistani captain Amir Sohail, put forward by sitting LCCA President Aamir Hayat Khan Rokhari, and P & T Gymkhana Club head Azhar Zaidi who is also contesting for the hot seat of the Association.
