LAHORE - A man killed an alleged paramour of his spouse at Jamal Colony in Hanjerwall police precincts in the wee hours on Saturday. The deceased was identified as a 29-year-old Sadiq, resident of Chunian, Kasur. Sources close to the police investigators said the deceased often tried to develop illicit relations with Sobia, spouse of Noor Mohammad, but to no avail. Sadiq worked in a goods company and had rented a quarter in front of Noors quarter. He often gazed at Sobia which infuriated her husband, police investigators said. They added Noor Mohammad often rebuked Sadiq to mend his ways but he did not. When contacted an on-duty police officer Ghulam Mustafa said accused Noor Mohammad approached Sadiqs quarter at about 1:30 am on Saturday and killed him by hitting a metallic rod on his head when he (Sadiq) was sleeping on the roof. He, however, said the accused also quarrelled with the deceased a couple of days back on the same issue but the locals intervened and made compromise between them. After killing Sadiq, the accused himself phoned the police concerned and informed it about the incident. Police arrested the accused and his wife besides registering a murder case under section 302/34 against him. The body was shifted to the morgue for autopsy. Girl dies, 10 injured in roof collapse A 10-year-old girl lost her life while seven others injured when a roof of a double-storey building collapsed at Dhobi Street in Qilla Gujjar Singh police area on Saturday. The deceased girl was identified as Komal. Police investigators said owner of the home Mohammad Haider Shah had been living in the area of Bibi Pakdaman for many years. A rescuer said on Saturday night Haider along with his spouse Nusrat Bibi, 35, their children including Ali Haider, 18, Ayesha, 15, Babar Ali, 12, Komal, 10, Saba, 11 and a guest Kamran, 22, were sleeping when all of sudden the roof collapsed. A neighbour said there was great hue and cry when the family stuck under the debris. Komal had lost her life when we recovered the victim members of the family from the debris after hectic efforts of three hours, a rescuer said. The locals along with rescue teams, however, shifted the other injured to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital where their condition was told stable till filing of this report.
