LAHORE - During the study tour of Europe on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, the delegation of position holder students visited two prominent universities of Germany namely Aachen University and Dortmund University. According to a handout issued on Friday, in Aachen University, Prof Dr Ing Dieter Moormann and Philp Miessner briefed students about different faculties and areas of university like aerospace engineering, and supersonic science. They further stated that the university was established in 1870 as Polytechnical Institute and it has now 35, 000 students with 9 faculties, 5019 foreign students including 81 Pakistanis. Later, Prof Strauss of Dortmund University told that the university was established in 1968. There are 24, 000 students with 16 faculties in science fields, 293 full professors, 3, 000 staff members. The special areas are chemical biology, biotechnology, chemical and biochemical engineering. They have latest technologies in chemical laboratories and they perform every experiment which they study theoretically during their lectures.
