LAHORE – The PML-N is holding an important meeting after inauguration of the newly-built party secretariat at Model Town today (Monday).
The meeting, with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif in the chair, will be attended by all top and central leaders of the party from all over the country.
Although agenda of the meeting has been kept open, yet the party sources say that political situation following the appointment of new prime minister, implementation of the judicial decisions with particular reference to the NRO case, appointment of new chief election commissioner, fresh elections and the caretaker set up, election preparedness of the party, massive loadshedding in the Punjab and other points may be in the main for discussion.
Sources say the meeting will reiterate the pledge to stand with judiciary in the matter of implementation of its decisions and take stock of the situation if the government continues to defy the same. They say that the PML-N eyes elections in November and will take decisions regarding motivation and activation of the party and workers.
They say that party lays emphasis on the appointment of a neutral, impartial and strictly on merit CEC who it believes can ensure free and, fair elections.
