LAHORE–As many as 329 nomination papers for national assembly seats from Punjab has been issued on the very first day of filing nomination papers for general election 2013.
However, not a single contestant has submitted his or her nomination papers on the first day while these nomination papers can be submitted till March 29. The Punjab election commission officers have issued 572 general and 59 nomination papers for minorities on provincial seats.  The commission has also issued 155 nomination papers for women including 35 national assembly seats and 66 provincial assembly seats from Punjab. Contestants from Lahore received papers from 13 returning officers who are sessions judges and performing their duties in judicial complex.
