LAHORE: The goods and donations deposited in the NPT Balochistan Relief Fund for the earth-quake victims were dispatched to Quetta on Thursday.
Those who present on the occasion included NPT Chairman and The Nation Editor-in-Chief Dr Majid Nizami; NPT Vice-chairman Prof Rafique Ahmad, Col (r) Jamshed Ahmad Tareen, Mian Farooque Altaf, Maulana Muhammad Shafi Josh, Engineer Muhammad Tufail Malik and NPT Secretary Shahid Rashid.
NPT Board of Governors Member Syed Faseeh Iqbal will hand over the relief goods to the Rangers, who will distribute them among the earth-quake victims.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Majid Nizami said that the Pakistani nation has once again exhibited great generosity in helping their disaster-stricken brethren. He thanked those who subscribed to the Balochistan Relief Fund so generously.
The initial donations were made by Dr Majid Nizami himself and his associates, appealing the nation for donations which amounted to Rs 2.3 million in cash and food articles worth 2.7 million rupees. The goods included rice, flour, pulses, white grams, new blankets and miscellaneous articles of daily use.–Staff Reporter
