LAHORE - Caretaker Punjab Governor and Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal on Thursday said that the real asset of any nation is the youth with a motive to serve the nation by devoting their lives.
He was addressing a function held in connection with the 13th Annual Convocation of Allama Iqbal Medical College where Provincial Health Minister Tahir Khalil, Provincial Secretary Health Hassan Iqbal and Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof Mehmood Shaukat were also present.
The acting Governor appreciated students who earned good name for the country after completing their medical education. He said that doctors are serving humanity by treating patients of fatal diseases which is a pious act. He said that Allama Iqbal Medical College is among one of the best medical institutes of the country which earned good name worldwide.
Rana Muhammad Iqbal said that promotion of Medical institutes and hospitals are the topmost priority of the present government and for the purpose, the government is utilising all available resources in order to ensure better job opportunities for people and they get better facilities during training as well.
Talking about the construction of a new girls hostel at Allama Iqbal Medical College, he said that he would bring the matter into the notice of Punjab Chief Minister. On the occasion, the acting Governor also distributed prizes among students and awarded them gold and silver medals.
