Court extends bail in Khawaja Sharif murder plot case

LAHORE – A Special central judge on Monday extended the interim bail of accused Tauqeer Shah and Talha Barki in the murder plot case of former Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Khawaja Sharif until September 28.
During the course of proceedings, the accused told the court they had no link with the murder plot of former LHC Chief Justice Khawaja Sharif.
“The FIA has filed a fake case against us,” they said. An FIA investigation officer, however, said the inquiry in the case was yet to be completed. On this, the court ordered the FIA to immediately complete the investigation.
Also, Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdul Qayyum Khan adjourned the hearing of a case involving Shan Khusro, the son of former Lahore Commissioner Parvez Khusro, who was allegedly involved in the murder of his friend Hamza Ilahi after copies of the case record were handed over to the accused.
