LAHORE - Alleging the ruling party for making preparations to steal the Local Government elections, PTI Vice Chairman, Shah Mehmood Qureshi has proposed that all the Opposition parties should constitute a joint monitoring committee to check and counter the rigging.
He made this proposal while talking to the media at party office after chairing a party meeting on Wednesday. He alleged that ruling party was making pre-poll rigging by new delimitations according to the choice of their Parliamentarians, besides holding the local polls under the district administration. Qureshi questioned that how the DCOs could hold transparent local polls which were under the command of the provincial govt.
PTI leader maintained that PML-N still desires non-party basis local elections, as all its actions for stealing the victory points towards this fact. He said that the Provincial Ministers were running the electoral drive of local elections candidates, while the provincial govt was announcing development schemes despite the announcement of election schedule to influence the voters. He said that the ruling party was violating the code of conduct.
