LAHORE - Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Saturday inaugurated a rest house and residential flats for judicial officers in GOR -IV, Model Town.
Senior judges Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik and Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan also accompanied with him.
While giving keys to the allottees, the chief justice said that Lahore High Court was providing every possible assistance to the judicial officers in order to help discharge their obligations with peace of mind.
He advised the judges to make sure that the prosecution and investigation agencies have done their job properly.
“Do inform LHC in case of slackness on their part because they play a pivotal role in the early disposal of cases”, the CJ observed. He further said that it was a fact that there was little government residential accommodation in the provincial metropolis as compared to employees and the judicial officers joining Lahore feel inconvenience. This effort will help solve stop gap arrangement to meet their residential needs till their proper settlement.
District and Sessions Judge of Lahore, Hamid Hussain Shah thanked the chief justice for acquiring very protected and secured residential facility and said that seven flats had been got earmarked by the Punjab Government to accommodate the newly posted judicial officers at Lahore.
One flat would be available to three males or two females on sharing basis. Acting Registrar Habib Ullah Amir, Senior Civil Judge Lahore Sher Abbas and judicial officers were also present on the occasion.
