Tribunal cross-examines Sanaullah, Dr Tauqir, others

LAHORE  - Holding in-camera proceedings, the inquiry tribunal, comprising Justice Ali Baqar Najfi, cross-examined former law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, former principal secretary to CM, Dr Tauqir Shah and many other police officials on Friday.
As the proceedings started, ISI Deputy Director Asad Ali Khan submitted an analysis report of eight cell-phone numbers, used by top political and administrative authorities.
After making the report part of the record, the tribunal directed the ISI to come up with final report on next hearing.
In previous hearing, the tribunal had directed Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to submit affidavit on the Model Town incident. But Advocate General Hanif Khatana requested the judge to give him more time, so that he could submit affidavit of the CM.
The tribunal accepted his plea, asking the law officer to submit affidavit on next hearing.
Federal Secretary Establishment Nadeem Hassan Asif also submitted a report and told the judge about facts and circumstances which prompted the government to transfer IGP Punjab before the day of unfortunate incident.
DSP Mir Kashif Khalil, Inspector/SHO Gulberg Zulfiqar Ali, Inspector/SHO Kahna Mohammad Ishtiaq adn DSP/SDPO Ichhra Model Town Division Rana Mohammad Islam were among the officers cross-examined by the tribunal. The proceedings adjourned till July 26 (today).
