Demos held on DPC call

LAHORE - Demonstrations and protests were held across the country including the City on Friday on the appeal of Defense of Pakistan Council (DPC) against possible resumption of Nato supplies through land route, drone attacks and grant of MFN status to India.
Prayer leaders passed special resolutions in Friday sermons which were especially provided to them by the DPC leadership, condemning the massacre of fellow Muslims in Afghanistan which Nato forces were able to commit only because of Pakistan’s facilitation for the past decade.
The protestors raised slogans against the US and India, calling for waging jihad against them to stop massacre of Muslims and plundering of Muslims’ resources. They also set ablaze US and Indian flags at several places.
The largest demonstration in Lahore was held at Chauburji chowk, led by Jamaat-ud-Dawah ameer Hafiz Muhammad Saeed who declared that Pakistani nation did not want mere apology on Salala attack but complete pull out of US forces from Pakistan and the whole region.
Addressing the charged protestors, he said Islamabad rulers could not announce reopening of Nato supply route in Chicago summit because of immense public pressure.
