Landlord at large after killing mum of three

LAHORE - A landlord fled from his house along with his three children, shortly after he stabbed his wife to death over domestic dispute in North Cantonment, police said Tuesday.
The mother of three, identified as Shazia Bibi, was said to be a nurse at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). The body was removed to the morgue for autopsy.
Resident of Shor Kot, Abdul Rahman, repeatedly stabbed his wife after a brief altercation at their house.
The man exchanged harsh words with his wife as she came back home from the hospital late Monday.
Police investigators said that the woman was lying in a pool of blood in the bedroom at her house in CMH Colony as they reached the spot. The deceased’s elder brother visited her house and found the woman lying stabbed to death.
Mohsin also told the police that he went to his sister’s house as her mobile phone was switched off.
According to the complaint, the relations between the couple were not cordial for the last couple of months. Police have registered a murder case and are investigating.
Shopkeeper killed
A 30-year-old shopkeeper was shot dead on offering resistance during a robbery attempt in Shadbag, police sources said Tuesday.
Usman Ghani was sitting in his mobile phone shop when two armed bandits forced their entry and demanded cash and mobile phones at gunpoint.
As the man offered resistance, one of the bandits opened straight fire at him with a pistol.
As a result, Usman sustained a bullet in the chest and died on the spot. Police reached the spot when the bandits had escaped. The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy.
Police have registered a murder case against unidentified killers and are investigating with no arrest made yet.
