LAHORE Some parts of the country including the City is likely to receive rainfall during the current week as a westerly wave of weak to moderate intensity is entering Pakistan from south-western Balochistan on Monday evening. Due to the influence of westerly wave, the parts of the country will remain under cloud cover which means relief from dry cold and foggy weather, especially in plains of Punjab. Experts are expecting rain at a few places of coastal areas of the country on Tuesday, scattered showers over some north-eastern parts of the country (Lahore, Gujranwala, Hazara, Bahawalpur divisions and Kashmir) on Wednesday/Thursday. The dry weather conditions will continue in most parts of the country, especially in the wheat-growing rain-fed areas of Balochistan, Khyber PK and Punjab, during the current week. On Sunday, Skardu remained the coldest place in the country where mercury dropped to 13.1 degree Celsius. In Lahore, maximum and minimum temperature was recorded 19.9 C and 2.7 C respectively. Local meteorological department has forecast mainly cold and dry weather for most parts of the country including the City during the next 24 hours. However, foggy weather is likely to prevail over the plains of Punjab at isolated places.
