LAHORE - Advisor to Chief Minister on Health Kh Salman Rafiq has said that the government has given four tiers service structure to paramedical staff from November 2011.
Addressing a press conference at Directorate General Health Services Punjab on Wednesday, he said that 27,905 posts in grade 5 to 15 and 1,485 in grade 16 to 19 would be upgraded. Secretary Health Babar Hayat Tarar and DG Health Dr Zahid Pervaiz were also present.
Kh Salman Rafiq said grade 5 to 8 employees would be promoted as junior technicians and from grade 9 to 11 as technicians in grade-12.
Likewise, grade 12 to13 employees would be promoted in grade-14 as senior technician and those in grade 14 and 15 as chief technician in grade 16. Furthermore, all employees working in grade-16 in all technologies would be promoted to grade-17 and above and these posts have also been upgraded. It will benefit 1,485 employees.
The secretary health said that promotion to grade-17 and above would be made as per service rules. To a question, he said that after up-gradation of paramedics, the case of employee of class-4 would be considered separately.
Regarding regularizing employee working in hospitals governed by Board of Management, the secretary informed that the institutions were bound to give pension and other benefits to these employees.
He said that if an autonomous hospital or medical college could bear the expenses, it could regularize the employee after approval from Board of Management.
