Faryal wants diehard workers as coordinators

LAHORE-The PPPs women wing President and President Zardaris sister, Faryal Talpur Friday said that party leadership was considering a proposal to appoint diehard party workers as coordinators in various federal government departments to help resolve peoples problems. Addressing office bearers of party women wing at the residence of Beelum Hasnain, she said she will ask the prime minister to do the needful by appointing workers as coordinators in the public institutions. The PPPs Lahore President and federal minister Samina Khalid Ghurki and Lahore women wing President Faiza Malik attended the meeting along with other office bearers. Faryal asked partys women legislators elected on reserved seats to spend their development funds in consultation with their district organizations. She also asked them to prepare for coming local bodies elections in the province, assuring that government would facilitate them in this regard. She also directed PPP ministers to keep in touch with party office-bearers and address their problems. Speaking in the context of Nahid Khans announcement to hold separate function on partys foundation day, Faryal said PPP would not be blacked by the rebels. She said all those who left the party in the past became a non-entity after some time. PPP to launch mass-contact drive: Safdar The PPPs newly appointed Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich has said that PPP would launch mass-contact campaign at tehsil level to galvanise the party ahead of local elections. Talking to the media at the residence of Senior Punjab Minister Raja Riaz Ahmad on Friday, he said that he would strengthen the party through coordinated efforts by all party cadres. He thanked Raja Riaz for holding reception in his honour and warm welcome accorded to him on his arrival in Lahore. Speaking on the occasion, Raja Riaz said that it had been decided that every PPP minister would hold workers convention in his respective constituency as part of preparations for the upcoming local polls. He said PPPs parliamentary party would extend all out cooperation to the newly nominated Punjab president to strengthen the party in Punjab. He said party workers would be activated at gross roots level for the purpose. Later, Imtiaz Safdar chaired meetings of partys Lahore Chapter and that of its women wing. He also attended a meeting at Governors House to finalise name of party candidate for NA-172.
