LAHORE - Editor-in-Chief The Nation and Chairman Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust, Majid Nizami has said that integrity and solidarity of the country and its progress is linked with the Two-Nation Theory and if there would have been no ideology Pakistan would not have come into being. He was addressing the concluding session of two-day Nazaria-i-Pakistan Conference here on Sunday at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan held in collaboration with Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust. The conference was attended by eminent personalities and delegates from within and outside the country. Majid Nizami paid rich tributes to Shaheed Ghulam Haider Wyne saying that we are sitting here in this hall because of Shaheed Wyne. He said Wyne did not left any property even for his widow and constructed this building for Pakistan Movement workers and such services could be seen nowhere in the country. Majid Nizami said some people question Pakistan's ideology. Even Maulana Hussain Ahmad Madni and Deo Bandi faction knew this ideology but they opposed Tehrik-e-Pakistan. India wanted to smash this theory and if an Indian stooge says what is ideology of Pakistan, I would say 'please get out'. Pakistan can only stay and progress due to Pakistan ideology, he maintained Majid Nizami said, "Hindu has stopped the waters of river Chenab. Ayub Khan has already sold Ravi, Sutlej and Bias. Now our people who had gone to India have sold the remaining river waters and our lands will go barren. God forbid we may not become Etheopia and Somalia." He further said, "We should not hesitate to go to nuclear war with India for the solution of our problems. I am hardliner in the context that I faced Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, Zia-ul-Haq and Pervaiz Musharaf. I am standing in front of you after three bypass operations. I wanted to remind you that our fight is against India, America and Israel. These three evil forces are united against us because we are the sole Islamic nuclear power. India could have attacked us if we were not nuclear power. Please don't have a soft corner for India. I never went to India and when Zia-ul-Haq asked me to go, I said I would go to India only on a tank." Majid Nizami said we should be fully prepared and keep our missile and atomic bomb intact. We should be grateful to Dr A Q Khan who is unfortunately in prison and is not allowed even to offer Friday prayers. Meanwhile Justice (r) Dr Javed Iqbal said that nations that have great leaders like Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Mohammad Iqbal should not have been disappointed of their respective future. He said in the able guidance of eminent journalist Majid Nizami, the conference is being held at an appropriate time. He said we are unfortunate that we have not been given complete awareness regarding Nazaria-i-Pakistan. He said when we talk about Islamic welfare and democratic Pakistan we should keep in mind that this has long history. Why the leaders of Muslims of South Asia envisaged that Pakistan would be an Islamic, welfare and democratic state, is a point to ponder, he added. He claimed that Sir Syed Ahmad Khan anticipated that if Western democracy was introduced in the subcontinent, the Muslims would have been in loss. The Muslims could get benefit only if they have been included in the mainstream of government. That was why, Sir Syed forbidden the Muslims to assimilate in Indian National Congress. He said the Muslims could not understand Sir Syed's strategy and hence received harms and tribulations from the Hindu community at various stages of history. He claimed that Allama Iqbal was the first person who followed Sir Syed's policy He said while seeing the deterioration of the Muslims of South Asia, Allama Iqbal realised the fact that unless the Muslims do not get a separate and sovereign state, they cannot get rid of these problems. So Allama Iqbal prayed to God Almighty to bestow on the Muslims a leader of high caliber. His prayers fructified and the Muslims were conferred with a great leader like Quaid-i-Azam who struggled and gave the Muslim a separate state. He said the Muslims were facing crisis of leadership, so after the sad demise of Quaid-i-Azam political vacuum was filled by stooges like Ch Mohammad Ali and Ghulam Mohammad who did not have any contribution in the Pakistan Movement. Likewise, lack of morality also tempted the army to frequently topple the elected government, he added. He further said Quaid-i-Azam wanted to make Pakistan a welfare state in which government should actively involve in industrial system. He said Allama Iqbal considered it compulsory to eradicate feudalism for making this country a welfare state. Allama Iqbal was also in favour of women's rights. He was of the opinion that India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka had eliminated feudalism in their respective countries but unfortunately Pakistan could not follow the course and hence country could not be converted into a democratic welfare state, he added. Former minister and worker of Pakistan Movement Sartaj Aziz said Majid Nizami had held two-day Nazaria-i-Pakistan Conference at a time when the country is surrounded by countless problems. He said poverty is being promoted due to wrong policies of the government. Foreign policy is under tremendous pressure of aliens while the country has been made dependent on donor countries and international financing agencies, he added. He claimed that only five to six per cent of elite class possessed over 60 per cent country's agricultural land and they received full benefits of agricultural reforms while common peasants are still deprived of even necessities of lives. He said industrial loans were awarded to the elite class instead of common people who after establishing factories grabbed industrial sector. He observed that when the West needed our services, they installed army by toppling democratic forces. He suggested that all core issues of national level should be discussed in parliament while media and judiciary should be independent, he added. Begum Mehnaz Rafi paid glowing tribute to Majid Nizami over holding Nazaria-i-Pakistan Conference in a befitting manner. She said feudalism was a great curse which deprived the people of their rights to progress especially it made women inactive in the society. She claimed that women were inspired by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan's movement and gave attention to get education and participated in the struggle of creation of Pakistan. Eminent journalist Syed Fasih Iqbal said rulers never understood the problems of Balochistan where law and order situation was deteriorating with each passing day. He claimed that five army operations were conducted in the Balochistan in the past but instead of any remedy, the problems of the province were multiplied and intensified. He claimed that Indian intelligence agency Raw is actively involved in the Balochistan insurgency and cash is being distributed among miscreants in this regard. He suggested that government should take Balochistan problems seriously, otherwise alien forces would take advantage of this situation, he added. Ahmad Awais, Mian Afzal Haq Qureshi, Tariq Maqsood, Abdul Rauf, Roheela, Raj Baig, Tafail Goindi, Iftikhar Rasool and Shabbir Ahmad Hashim also addressed first session of the conference.
