LAHORE - Scholars and politicians representing different religions and parties condemned attacks on places of worship. They stated that the blasts in Peshawar Church reflect anti-Pakistan forces are active and should be condemned at all levels.
These views were established at a forum, on Thursday, conducted jointly by TheNation, The Nawaiwaqt and Waqt News on “Recent Wave of Terrorism and Inter-Religion Harmony”.
PTI central vice president Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed, PML N leader Syed Zaeem Qadri, JUP Secretary General Qari Zawar Buhadur, All Pakistan Minorities Alliance leader and former MPA Najmi Salim, Chairman Inter Faith Council for Peace and Harmony Syed Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman Pakistan Hindu Welfare Council Dr Manohar Chand, Bhagat Laal Khokhar and Baba Guru Nanak Welfare Society Jaswandar Singh. Incharge Aiwan-i-Waqt Saifulla Sipra was the program moderator.
Mian Mehmood Rasheed said that Peshawar Tragedy was an attack on Pakistani peace and some forces did not want prosperity in the country. He said that all the political forces agreed upon dialogues with the Taliban and such incidents would hinder such efforts. Adding to that he said the Pakistani government should take the issue seriously and resolve the issue at every cost. Another APC may also be convened for a fresh mandate on the issue, he held.
