Financial assistant for cardiac patient

LAHORE - Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Kh Salman Rafique handed over a cheque of Rs 2 lakh on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister to Habib Ullah, father of 11 years old cardiac patient Afsana of Sukkhar Sindh, admitted in Punjab Institute of Cardiology here on Thursday.
Talking to the media, Kh Salman Rafique said that responding to a media report regarding the ailment of 11 years old Afsana, resident of Sukkhar, Sindh, he contacted the father of the patient and offered him free treatment of his daughter in Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Lahore.
Kh Salman said that on his offer the family came to Lahore with their ailing daughter. She was admitted to the PIC where a team of senior doctors headed by Prof Bilal Zakria conducted all her tests and provided medical treatment.
The advisor said that according to the doctors, the disease of Afsana is not completely curable and only symptomatic treatment is being carried out. He said that her father Habib Ullah is a poor labourer and when Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif came to know about the case he directed to provide financial assistance to the family and sanctioned two lakh rupees. He further said that he has handed over the cheque to the father of Afsana on behalf of the chief minister.
