LAHORE (APP) - A galaxy of former Vice Chancellors of the Punjab University on Thursday stressed the need for safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan. Addressing the special gathering organized in honour of former VCs with the theme Channd Yadeen aur Channd Baateen at PUs Faisal Auditorium here Thursday, former VC Prof Dr Khariat-Ibn-Rasa, Prof Dr.Rafiq Ahmad, Prof Dr.Khalid Hameed and Prof Dr.Muhammad Arif Butt underlined the need for getting rid the country from all sort of social evils especially stamping out the menace of terror with the same spirit demonstrated at the time of creation of Pakistan. The former VCs in their heart warming speeches based on their life long varied experiences recalled that countless sacrifices were offered by our ancestors for independent homeland in accordance with the cardinal teachings of Islam. They said that younger generation all over the world was always considered as a ray of hope for the future and students above from all prejudices must focus on their education to contribute in the vital national development. They said that entire nation especially the students should never compromise on principles and uphold the glory of discipline, unity and faith in their ranks if they want to cope with the future challenges. VC PU Prof Dr.Mujahid Kamran in his vote of thanks, said that distinguished former VCs for giving excellent set of advises to teachers, students and employees which he added would help a lot to further build confidence in the participants.
