Lecturer dissatisfied over report

LAHORE - Visiting lecturer of Punjab University, Shabina Gull has show dissatisfaction over the findings of inquiry committee of Punjab University, maintaining that Dr Iftikhar Baloch never attended the inquiry process whenever the inquiry officers called him. She expressed these views while talking to The Nation on Saturday. It is worth mentioning here that an inquiry was underway in Punjab University into allegations that Principal College of Earth and Environment Sciences had allegedly sexually harassed Shabina. She visited Lahore Press Club on Saturday to address a press conference but later she preferred to confine herself to the ladies room of the Club and her husband on her behalf addressed the press conference. I dont like to become Mukhtaran Mai by addressing a press conference, Shabina responded when she was questioned that why she herself was not addressing the press conference. She said that inquiry officers were also pressurising her to reconcile with Baloch and added that she was also offered Rs 5 millions and then 6 million by Mr Baloch for reconciliation but she rejected the offer. On the other hand, Ibrar Khan, husband of Shabina while addressing press conference said that police were playing partial role in investigations and he had informed the university management in this regard but no step was taken by university management for the transparency of the investigation. He accused Mr Baloch of paying bribe to exonerate him from the charges. He appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Governor Punjab and Chief Minister Punjab to take notice of the incident and expel Iftikhar from the varsity. When Ibrar finished his press conference, a group of students from Islami Jamiat-i-Tulaba of Punjab University was present in the compound of press club and met him and talked to him briefly and disappeared from the scene.
