oUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A 10-member delegation of Turkish companies Albayrak, Ozkarpallar and IStac met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Tuesday. Matters regarding the agreement signed between Istanbul Municipality and Solid Waste Management for the cleanliness of the provincial metropolis were discussed in the meeting. Talking to the Turk delegation, the CM said there were strong historical, cultural and friendly relations between Pakistan and Turkey and people of both the countries had deep affiliation with each other. He also said an agreement had been reached between Istanbul Municipality and the SWM during his visit to Turkey regarding maintenance of cleanliness in Lahore, and it was his desire that the agreement was implemented expeditiously. He added that an excellent system had been adopted for cleanliness in Istanbul, and he wanted to see the same standard of cleanliness in Lahore. He mentioned that people of Lahore were anxiously waiting for their Turk brethren and would be happy to welcome them. He said the Turk company, which was given contract of this project should immediately start work.
