Three members of a family were killed in a road accident here in Lahore at Ravi Road on Friday. Police said that a speedy passenger hiace hit three family members who were crossing the Ravi Road after visiting the mausoleum of Pir Makki. As a result of accident, Hafeezan Bibi was killed on the spot while her husband Muhammad Sharif and daughter Robaila sustained critical wounds. The injured were rushed to hospital where both expired due to critical wounds. The deceased hailed from Gujranwala and they had came to Lahore for visiting mausoleum of Sufi Saint Pir Makki. The driver responsible for accident managed to flee from the scene. SHO Bhatti Police Station, Mazhar Hussain said that the accident took place due to reckless driving and over speeding. He said that due to absence of speed breakers drivers dont observe caution which often results in loss of precious lives. Meanwhile, police confiscated the hiace and search for the driver was underway.
