'Rulers will not be allowed to repeal Blasphemy Law

LAHORE - Chairman Sunni Ittehad Council Sahibzada Haji Fazal Karim has said the rulers would not to be allowed to repeal blasphemy law. Addressing 'Tahafuz Namoos-e-Risalat Convention at a local marriage hall on Tuesday, Fazal Karim said the President, Prime Minister and other national leaders were showing criminal silence on blasphemy law. He said Sunnis were united for their rights on the platform of Sunni Ittehad as they knew that government was discriminating them. He said they were peace lovers but the government were imposing ban on their gatherings while the others religious outfits were allowed. He said they had sacrificed a lot for the establishment and betterment of the county. He said the government should clear its position regarding the blasphemy law. On the occasion, Sunni clerics including Maulana Zulfiqar Mustafa Hashmi, Maulana Syed Mahfooz, Mufti Haseeb and others were also present.
