Highway Patrol claims arrest of 2 killers of 4

LAHORE - The Punjab Highway Patrol claimed to have arrested two killers of four persons here on Thursday. PHP team Jewana Bangla received a message from PHP helpline 1124 that an accident took place near Adda Sabirabad. The PHP team rushed to the spot and found a car (755/LEE) in crushed condition in which five persons were boarded, four out of them died at the spot while one sustained serious injuries. The patrolling party provided first-aid to the injured and shifted the dead bodies and injured person to DHQ Hospital, Layyah. Among the dead were Sarwer advocate of Layyah, Asif of Wazirabad, Abid of Gujranwala and Zulfiqar of Kamonky. In the meanwhile, a motorcyclist told that some persons boarded a black car (3550/LEB) opened fire on them and fled away from the spot. Later, at a picket, the PHP team stopped the said car and apprehended two accused namely Asif and Zahid Hussein. Two SMGs, 8 magazines, two ring magazines, 70 bullets, one pistol with one magazine and 6 bullets were recovered from their possession. Meanwhile, the patrolling party found that 6 unknown culprits were busy looting the commuters. On seeing the patrol party, the culprits opened fire on them and escaped from the scene. PHP team Sahuwala received information that a person had jumped into the canal with an intention to commit suicide. On this, the team rushed to the spot and brought the person namely Mukhtar out of water.
