OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A delegation of the Lahore Tax Bar Association (LTBA) led by Bar President Iftikhar Shabbir Syed met the Executive Body of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industries the other day and discussed the issue of New STR-7 Sales Tax and Federal Excise Returns. LTBA President Iftikhar Shabbir opposed the returns based on a number of pages and annextures G&H. Ifikhar said the obtaining of CNIC/NTN from the unregistered person was an illegal act on the part of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and there was no such provision in the law. He said the Annexure G and H were totally irrelevant and the same should be excluded from the return forms. The president also warned of boycotting the filing of returns if the govt did not fulfill their demand. The LCCI also allegedly supported the stance of the Lahore tax bar.
