National Highways & Motorway Police IG Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema expressed these views during National Highways & Motorway Police Inter-Zonal debate Competition, held at NH&MP Lines Headquarters, Islamabad to promote creativity and professionalism among the officers. The competition provided an opportunity to 24 young and talented NH&MP officers including 02 female officers to focus and express themselves on the topics i) Rizq-e- Halal Mohafiz Ke Shan Hai, (ii) Khush Ikhlaqi Aaqa-e Do Jahan (PBUH) Ke Sunnat Hai. –Staff Reporter
The participant NH&MP officers were gathered there from all parts of the country after winning competitions at respective sector and zonal levels, proved the benefits of halal earnings, courtesy and good deeds through Holey Quran and Hadis.
The inspector general said that due to effective briefings, education and enforcement without any discrimination, road users of highways and motorways are wearing seat belt, using helmet avoiding mobile phone during driving and maintain speed of the vehicle up to the limit.
He announced that rule of law on highways and motorway is at its maximum. He expected that reflection of those good deeds of motorway police would turn the whole society into law abiders. He said with pride that our field officers help the road users instantly and during help they perform like a worker and don’t hesitate to change the tyre even.
He said that National Highways & Motorway Police was the only department of the Pakistan who was declared corruption free and considered an icon of excellence at international level.
The panel of judges for the speech competition comprised of 08 distinguished and senior officers of different organizations. Senior Journalist Mr. Masood Malik thanked the Inspector General, NH&MP and appreciated topics and organization of debate competition. He said NH&MP is a role model for all other departments to follow. Senior Journalist Mr. Hanif Khalid appreciated the working of NH&MP and considered NH&MP officers his ideal. He said that civil bureaucracy of the country should follow the working norms of NH&MP. I salute all ranks of this department, he said. He said that officers of NH&MP are talented, educated motivated and opted Halal earnings.
SPO Naseem Abbas, Motorway Zone (Faialabad), stood first, PO Nawaz Hussain Shah, Motorway Zone (Sheikhupura), declared second and PO Moazamma Mussarat, N-5 Central Zone (Rahim Yar Khan) got third position in first session of the competition containing topic “RIZQ-E-HALAL MOHAFIZ KI SHAN HE”. During second session of the debate competition containing topic of “KHUSH AKHLAQI SARKAR-E-DO JEHAN KI SUNAT HE” JPO Shumaila Rasheed, N-5 North Zone (Texila), PO Hassan Saleem Khan, N-5 South Zone (Hyderabad), and SPO Asghar Ali Khayyam, N-5 Central Zone (Patoki) stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
At the end of the ceremony, Chief Guest, Inspector General, Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema, awarded shields, certificates and cash rewards to the position holders of the Speech Competition and also presented souvenirs and shields to the panel of judges.
