LAHORE The Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) investigation team Friday arrested 15 more people from various districts allegedly involved in leakage of question papers of Federal Public Service Commission, University of Health Sciences (UHS), Punjab University, King Edward Medical University and National University of Sciences, (NUST). The same group was also involved in leakage of question paper of entrance test of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) a week back, sources in the ACE said. During preliminary inquiry, the accused confessed that they had successfully made the question papers of above said institutions repeatedly since long and the UET was their target and on occasion of last entrance test, they succeeded to make the question paper leaked to the students. The accused confessed that they earned a lot of money from their heinous business. It is worth mentioning here that the investigation team visited UET on Friday and recorded the statements of the staff of the UET and members of admission committee. A week after the National University of Sciences and Technology paper leaked out, the UET Lahore was hit by a similar incident when the entrance exam of UET Lahore for BSc Engineering was leaked out. The test took place on July 24 at ten different centres across Pakistan where 41,000 students appeared fighting for 4000 positions. UET Vice Chancellor Muhammad Akram initially disagreed to the students claim of paper leakage but after proofs declared to cancel the exam and re-conduct it on a later date. The UET Spokesman said that the accused were on their mission since long but could not succeed to achieve their target but unfortunately UET Vice Chancellor was out of country when the process of preparation of question paper was being completed. Due to poor supervision of the process, the accused succeeded to get the paper leaked.
