LAHORE - A mechanic along with his two relatives allegedly poisoned his 27-year-old spouse to death over monetary dispute in Mughalpura area, police sources said. The deceased woman was identified as Gulshan Bibi, resident of Main Market Ramgarh. Police investigators revealed that Basheer, paternal uncle of the girl, married his niece with one Sudheer, a mechanic at a local workshop and resident of Muslim Abad near drain, some three years back. A local requesting anonymity disclosed that during early days of their marriage the couple was quite happy over marriage but with the passage of time Sudheer started to demand money from his spouse, Gulshan. Sudheer along with his sister Nasreen and brother-in-law Haji Ayub often victimised the girl of severe torture over the aforementioned issue, the local added. He further said some days back the accused man demanded golden earrings from Gulshan, who strongly refused to do so, on which he thrashed her. The victim woman went to her uncles home after developing differences with her husband due to the said reasons but the accused brought back her after reconciliation, police investigators said. Basheer however alleged that Nasreen forcibly feeding some liquid to Gulshan while Ayub had captured her hands. They said Gulshan is suffering from any disease and they are giving her medicine. But soon after taking medicine, Gulshan falls unconscious, he added. Later, the victim was rushed to Mayo Hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead. Police concerned have registered an FIR against three accused including her husband. Police have also arrested Sudheer. Further investigations are underway.
