LAHORE – The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) has imparted a three-day training on ‘Basic Life Support and Fire Safety’ to the students of Ghulab Devi Postgraduate Medical Institute, Lahore.
According to an official communiqué issued on Saturday, 78 students were trained on initial assessment of patient, rescue breathing, treatment of foreign body airway obstruction, cardio pulmonary resuscitation, and management of spinal injury patient’s care and fire safety measures.The specially-designed training course was conducted by the Community Safety Wing of Rescue 1122 and students were imparted hands-on training through practical exercises for the management of emergencies.
“The students appreciated the expertise of Rescue instructors who imparted training on lifesaving measures using mannequins,’ Community Safety Wing Chairperson Roqiya Bano Javed said. She added the management of both the medical institute and Rescue 1122 lauded the learning spirit of the students. Bano said the participants expressed their satisfaction that the training initiated by Rescue 1122 in the field of emergency management has reached international standards within a short span of time.
The Rescue 1122 is also conducting training for other organizations, including the King Edward Medical University, Social Security Hospital, College of Dentistry and Motorway Police, Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore University, and Girl Guide Association.
