MQM standing with oppressed PAT: Rizvi

LAHORE - Senior leader Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Haider Abbas Rizvi said Saturday that what happened in Islamabad was bad for the country and the MQM was striving to avert the same.
In a media talk he said after this brutal action by the police on PAT now the MQM was standing with this oppressed party and to show solidarity with it, his party had announced a mourning day on Sunday.
He said if the government did not act to defuse tension, the MQM would be constrained to devise phase-wise strategy to avail other options including that of the parliamentary. He said MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain had suggested to replace the prime minister from within the ruling side but his proposal was not accepted. He said if the situation aggravated, MQM would review its policy in the parliament.
