Raymond Davis case: Shahbaz refuses to cave in to any pressure

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said that the diplomatic immunity of US national Raymond Davis, killer of two Pakistanis, would be decided by the federal government. Briefing the media after holding a meeting with Governor Punjab Latif Khosa, the CM categorically stated that no pressure would be entertained regarding the issue. Every Pakistanis life is precious and justice would surely prevail, Shahbaz said in a strident tone. He, however, declined to comment on the investigative aspect of the case, saying that the matter is sub judice in the court. The CM asserted that he discussed the legal aspects of the issue with Governor Punjab Latif Khosa, who assured him of all-out support in this respect. The CM said that, We are making efforts to avoid the information gap between two main institutions of the province. On the occasion, Governor Khosa said that work with mutual understanding would help improve the public plight. Earlier, CM Shahbaz Sharif called on Governor Khosa at the Governor House and discussed ways to improve the working relationship between the PPP and PML-N and other pending issues.
