Another body to formulate proposals for new LG setup

LAHORE - Without taking the coalition partner and other parliamentary parties on board, the ruling PML-N has constituted a high level committee to formulate proposals for new local government set up, sources informed The Nation on Friday. The Committee, headed by MNA Zahid Hamid, will submit proposals for formulation of local government act to the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. After getting a nod from the chief executive of the province, the same will be presented before the Punjab Assembly for legislation. The other members of the committee include MNA Ahsan Iqbal, MNA Ayyaz Amir, Sheikh Aftab, Hanif Abbasi, Shakil Awan, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, ex-Chief Secretary AZK Sherdil, ex-Nazim Sahiwal Rai Hassan Nawaz, ex Nazim Kasur Rana Hayat Khan, Advisor to Punjab CM Kh Ahmed Hasan, Secretary Finance, Secretary Law, Commissioner Bahaw-alpur and DCO Rawalpindi.
