Crime surges in flood-hit areas

Increasing theft and robberies in the flood-hit areas of the province show failure of the local police on the law and order front. Be it jewellery shops or banks, thieves and robbers have left no place safe. A bunch of criminals reported to be hyper active in the districts of Ghotki, Shikarpur and Kashmore have thieved all buffaloes, cows, goats, sheep and camel from the devastated areas. According to reports pouring in from upper Sindh, even the policemen of those areas have been caught red handed in theft and robberies. In this painful scenario it is proposed that round-the-clock surveillance in the flood-hit areas to check anti-social elements may also be made to curb the surging crime. Whereas, the President and Prime Minister are appealed to direct the Ministry of Interior and Sindh Home Department to take strict action against those SHOs whose jurisdiction have surge in the crime and also against those policemen are reported to be involved in theft and robberies incidents in the worst flood-hit areas of the province.
