Recently, there was a dispute over the jurisdiction of three police stations in Karachi. At least, ten hours passed in the dispute following the killing of a youth in Karachi. The higher authorities got involved to break the ice but all the three police stations refused to register the case. The police should not create issues of its own especially when it has failed to provide security to the general public. Proper inquiry should be carried out in the most transparent manner so that such lapses do not occur in future. Khurram Saleem, January 13.
