ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) has submitted its list for special seats for women and minorities with the Election Commission of Pakistan dropping a number of MPs of defunct Parliament while ignoring some of the stalwarts like Kashmala Tariq, who were all quite confident to get place in the coveted list for special seats.
A vibrant and active outgoing MP on special seats Anusha Rehman tops the list of candidates for special seats for women in the National Assembly followed by Zeb Jaffar, Tahira Aourengzeb, Perveen Masiood Bhatti, Aysha Raza, Shahista Pervez Malik, Nighat Mir, Begum Majida Wayne, Khalida Mansoor, Aysha Naz Tonoli, Seema Moeuddin Jillani, Shahnaz Saleem, Lyla Khan, Arfa Khalid, Suryia Asghar, Shahzadi Tawana, Mayza Hameed, Farhana Qamar, Shaheen Shafique, Iffat Liaquat, Shahzia Matto and Robina.
While on the special seats for women in Punjab Assembly, the PML-N list contained the names of Zakia Khan, Kiran Dar, Asma Mamdot, Nasreen Nawaz, Uzma Zaheem Qadari, Shaheen Shafique, Shaheen Ishfaq, Perveen Akhtar, Saba Sadiq, Shahjahan, Rukhsana Kokab, Mahwish Sultan, Farzana Butt, Sumaira Sami Chaudhry, Shumila Aslam, Sultana Shaheen, Naseem Lodhi, Farzana Afzal, Julis Roffan Julias, Aysha Javid, Uzma Bokhari, Sadia Nadeem, Dr. Najma Afzal, Kanwal, Suria Naseem, Dr. Farzana Naseer, Najma Arshad, Sobia Anwar Sethi, Shakila Luqman, Shabana Zakria Butt, Haseena, Farah Manzoor, Gulnar Shahzadi, Azra Sabir, Saira Iftikhar, Lubna Faisal, Tamkeen Akhtar Niazi, Maria Gul, Kaneez Akhtar, Khoula Amjid, Dr. Aylia, Tehseen Fawad, Lubna Rehman, Salma Butt, Shahzadi Kabir, Fouzia Ayub Qureshi, Irm Hassan Bajwa, Rahila Khadim Hussain, Madhia Rana and Nighat Nasir.
For minorities seats PML-N has submitted the list comprising Khalid Tahir Sindhu, Asfanyar Bhandara, Tariq Gil, Shakeel, Ramesh Singh, Shahzad Masih, Zulfiqar Ghori, Kangi Ram, Khalid Mahmood and Rafaqat Masih Salhotra.
Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has re-changed its priority list specified for women in Punjab Assembly.
According to the new list, the name of Faiza Malik has been put on second number while Nargis Faiz has been declared first in the list.
Rahila Baloch has been put on third number, Arshia Akram on four, Shabina Riaz Sheikh fifth, Rafia Saeed on sixth and Najmi Saleem’s name is on seventh priority.
Aesha Mushtaq, Shahida Jabin, Tasleem Fazli, Anbrin Ismael, Neelum Awan, Farkhanda Malik, Saeeda Arshad and Nasira Showkat’s names include in the list as a chronological order.
However, after 15 names, no change has been introduced in the list.
