VEHARI - On the eve of Ramazan, the prices of daily use commodities are increasing exorbitantly as the role of 'so-called price control committees is seen nowhere in this regard. People have strongly protested against the district government for not taking steps against the price hike ahead of the holy month of Ramazan. Trader unions are joining hands for fleecing customers and the district administration is acting like a silent spectator In Vehari market, beef is available at Rs250, chicken at 300. eggs at 96 per dozen and milk is selling at Rs 60. No price lists are hanged on the walls of shop and nobody is ready to start the process of accountability of price hikers. To a question, DCO Nasar Ullah Lughari said, We have constituted multiple price control committees and these committees are working with full zeal and zest. Union for Citizens Rights President Malik Tanveer. and General Secretary Dr Ali Asad Choudhry said that these communities were not established for the benefits of the citizens, urging the DCO to take concrete steps to face the negligence of these committees.
