JI flays army deployment in Islamabad

Bahawalpur
Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Ameer Dr Syed Waseem Akhter has strongly condemned the government over calling army to control law and order in Islamabad. He said that the decision reflected the government failure to run affairs smoothly as it had been done due to the fear of Imran Khan’s proposed Azadi March scheduled for Aug 14 on the eve of Independence Day of Pakistan.
He said that in the presence of civil institutions to maintain law and order, there was no need of army as law and order was the responsibility of civil institutions.
He was of the view that the Prime minister should handle issues democratically to flourish democracy in the country and avoid becoming dictator.
He further expressed deep concern over Israeli brutality in Gaza and criticized the UNO, the US and world over taking no serious steps to stop Israel’s aggression and killing of innocent Palestinians.
Dr Syed Waseem Akhter urged the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to immediately call joint session of the Parliament and all parties conference to review and decide urgent issues to develop national consensus on various issues confronted the country.
